"At the LME, we are committed to promoting the development of socially responsible practices in our marketplace and community"
The LME aims to support initiatives that create effective and lasting benefits in society. We hope to achieve this through our corporate philanthropy, by establishing community partnerships and mobilising our employees to participate in volunteer work.
Our charity partner
The LME’s chosen charity partner is Little Havens Hospice. When a family has been told that there’s no cure for their child’s illness, Little Havens Hospice can help. They are there to make the journey as comfortable as possible, controlling pain and medication, offering respite and caring for children at the end of their lives. Their specialist care is free, for as long as is needed, within the family home and at their hospice.
As part of the partnership, the LME’s employees are taking up their own challenges to support Little Havens. They will also provide volunteer services to the charity by helping with the maintenance of the Hospice’s garden. The LME is proud of its staff and the lengths they are willing to go to, and contributes to their fundraising drives.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal
The LME has long been a big supporter of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which every year works with the financial sector to raise funds for selected charities.
The LME will be taking part in City Giving Day, which was created by the Lord Mayor’s Appeal to unite the City in raising funds and awareness for their chosen charities.
In the lead-up to and on City Giving Day, the Lord Mayor champions the charity and community activities that companies and organisations undertake to support society. And with over 200 companies taking part in 2015, City Giving Day is set to become a key date in the City’s calendar.
Futures for Kids
The LME supports Futures for Kids, a charity launched in February 2008 by a group of people in the futures industry in Europe to raise funds for children’s charities around the world.
FFK’s fundraising events not only help the charity to reach its targeted audiences, but are also a great way for organisations such as the LME to get involved.
